How to engage in the blogging community.

Becoming a blogger isn’t just about writing and posting on your blog. We have to engage with other bloggers and engage in the blogging community. Supporting one another is so so important. I know that it can be difficult with busy schedules but if you want to grow your blog you need to engage and create connections. Blogging can be lonely as we are our own bosses and many others feel the same. Engagement is key. There are many ways that you can engage and in this post, I am going to tell you some of these ways.

Twitter

When I first launched my blog, Twitter was the first platform that I began sharing my blog on. Very quickly I knew that Twitter was going to be an amazing community for me to grow and share on. I have met so many amazing people through Twitter and I am proud to call them my friends. There are many ways that you can engage on Twitter from liking, commenting and retweeting others tweets This can be a great way to start conversations and give support back to your followers.

Twitter chats are also an amazing way to engage in the blogging community. Throughout the week there are many chats that you can get involved too. You can find the schedule here. I have met so many new bloggers and made some great friends from participating in these Twitter chats. Usually Twitter chats have a theme, for example, using social media to help your blog so you will answer and chat with a number of bloggers about this specific topic. Join in and have some fun!

Facebook

Facebook can be difficult to grow on but it is another easy way to engage in the blogging community from Facebook pages and Facebook groups. There are so many blogging groups that you can join and engage with many other bloggers. Many of these Facebook groups have rules that you need to follow or you will be removed from the group. So, make sure you read the rules when you join.

These rules aren’t difficult to follow. They have simple rules against self-promotion. Facebook groups are created for like-minded people to connect and create bonds with people who have the same interests. If someone asks for help and you can help them out, comment on their status and give them the help they need. It’s so easy to engage in the blogging community.

Facebook pages are a great way to engage with bloggers. Like their page, like, comment and share their status’. It will help them boost their engagement and they will be very appreciative. We are all working ridiculously hard to grow our blogs and we all need to support one another.

Instagram

Instagram is very very difficult to grow due to the follow unfollow game. It can be very frustrating. We don’t see a lot of the content that we would like to see but sadly that’s how Instagram works. To engage with bloggers and see more of their content by commenting, liking, resharing their posts. It really helps and they will most likely see more of your content too if you continue to engage with them.

Another good way to engage with bloggers is interacting on their Instagram stories. They come up on the top of your screen when you go on Instagram. It’s very easy to find bloggers to engage with. You can join in on polls, react to their stories, comment on them, etc.

Blogs

I love reading other peoples blogs. It’s the best way to engage in the blogging community. Posting a very meaningful comment on a blog post goes a long way and really makes a blogger happy. I love when I get a comment on my blog saying that they connect with what I have been through or that it gave them an insight into a certain topic.

Take an hour out of the day to sit, relax, read and comment on some blogs. I do this every morning before I get out of bed and it’s nice to just lay in bed and read some blog posts. It inspires me to get up and start my day and sometimes I even get some inspiration and come up with some new blog post ideas.

There are some simple ways on how to engage in the blogging community. How do you engage in the blogging community? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Twitter is definitely the best in the terms of engagement and promotion of my blog. I also use Pinterest, but am not really sure how to use it to get more traffic to my blog.

  2. Love these tips! I definitely feel like I should make more time to engage in the community, but it is so difficult sometimes. Twitter is definitely my favourite platform for engagement, as it’s the easiest to grow on and also the easiest to get in touch with others in my opinion
