How to get through the holiday stress.

During this time of year, many people get very stressed. Making sure everyone has a gift, spending a lot of money, having the family over for dinner or whatever it is that you do during this time can be so so difficult and stressful. I have some tips and tricks on how to get through the holiday stress. It will be needed!

1. Planning ahead of time

This is the organised freak in me starting off with this one. Having a plan really helps take some stress off your shoulders. Organise what your goals are and plan what you will do each day to reach those goals.

2. Get enough sleep

Sleep is so important. Your mind and body needs to be able to shut down and relax for at least eight hours. Not getting enough sleep can result in even more stress and not being able to function properly.

Lavender oil is an amazing essential oil that can help you relax before bed and help you get to sleep during these times of stress. 

3. Set a budget

Christmas is always that time of year where a lot of money is spent. Many people get in debt after Christmas. You don’t want this worry, do you? Organising a budget can really fix this one. How much can you afford to spend on gifts, food shopping, decorations, etc? Money shouldn’t make you stress.

4. Self-care.

You need to take care of yourself. Take time out, relax, breathe,  have a bubble bath and take some YOU time. If you haven’t already downloaded your self-care checklist. You can do so here.

5. Ask for help.

Do you need help? Well, ask for it! There are people who love and care for you so ask them for help.

6. Start saying no.

Family and friends have a tendency of asking you to do things that you really don’t want to do. If you are uncomfortable and don’t want to do it. Just say NO. 

7. Walk away

Are you an introvert? I know I am. Social gatherings can be very overwhelming. Walk away from the situation of it makes you uncomfortable! It will help you and the anxiety that you are feeling in this situation. 

If you don’t like social gatherings make an appearance for a few minutes and then leave if you have to. This is all about how to get through the holiday stress. If you are in a stressful situation, get out of it,
