Killer for Hire Synopsis
I sacrificed everything for her. When I saved we from the mafia, I traded my freedoms for hers. I’ve never regretted it. Never looked back. I cut her out of my life to keep her safe. She never ever knew what I traded for her.
I did everything I could to her from the retribution of the Italian mafia but it wasn’t enough. They’re after her again, and all that’s standing between her and the darkest fate imaginable is me.
It’s scary the things you can close your eyes to. Even after I was rescued from men who wanted to do the worst things to me, I went in with my life. I forgot all about the threats of the mafia, about what they forced me to do, and even the man who saved me from them.
But now, my hero has returned, and just in a nick of time. Because the Mafia is coming for me, and this time, I don’t know if we’re going to get out of this alive.
First Thoughts and Emotions
I spent many years reading books on Wattpad when I was younger and loved this genre so I was really excited to jump in and see if I still enjoyed these types of stories or not.
At the beginning of the story we come face to face with our two main characters but have no idea what’s actually going on except that Luca is preparing to kill a man and in the end we meet young Serena who is scared out of her mind. Although we don’t know what happened to Serena within the room it is constantly brought up creating a mystery. This story is in two points of view it switches between both Luca and Serena in a very clear and concise way.
The story then moves to a few years later. We meet a more mature, professional, strong independent women also known as Serena and a strong, smart, skilled, fierce and warrior Luca.
Tension unfolds quiet early in within this story between Luca and Lorenzo which creates really good suspense throughout the story. There isn’t only tension between Luca and Lorenzo there is also huge sexual tension between our two main characters and some hot and steamy sex scenes that leaves nothing to the imagination.
As this story is based on gang related topics there is no doubt that there is a lot of violence and strong language within this story.
A big reason why this book has only received 4 STARS is that it is a very clique story and I could see some of the scenes coming before they happened.
The ending of the story was great and opens up for a second book which I’m excited for!
We meet many characters in Killer for Hire some who I loved and others I hated. My favourite character within this story definitely has to be Rafaela she is a great friend to Serena. She is kind, loving, loyal and will do anything for the people she loves. She is such a strong, fierce and independent character. Although she doesn’t have much of an impact within the story which is unfortunate but I’d love to see her more involved in the next book.
We don’t see much character development in this story which is disappointing but the plot makes up for it in the end.
Final thoughts and emotions
I really enjoyed reading Killer for Hire and the plot was dry intriguing and kept me interested throughout the story although I guessed some of the scenes before they happened. This is definitely a great read that you should pick it up!
