Lavender is one of the most versatile and safest oils to use when you are just starting with essential oils. This is my absolute favourite oil so far. Absolutely everyone can use this oil, whether you need it to help settle your little one, need to use it when you’re pregnant and the elderly can even use it. Isn’t that amazing?

My experience with lavender oil.
I have been using Lavender oil for about four months now and I can honestly say it is a staple in my life now. Before I began using lavender I struggled to sleep. It was very difficult for me to fall asleep at night and I would wake up in the middle of the night and be unable to fall back asleep for hours.
This was really frustrating me and I absolutely did not want to have to take sleeping pills. I was already taking my antidepressants and my anti anxiety medication so taking sleeping pills was a huge NO.
When I joined the essential oil business I was excited to see what oils can help me in relation to my sleep problems and then eventually use to help me with my depression and anxiety without having to use medication.
How I use Lavender oil
I apply a few drops of oil onto my pillow, my wrists, the soles of my feets and onto my temples. While applying the oil to my wrists I inhale the scent deeply three times. Inhalation is the quickest way to get the oil into my body.
After applying the oil this way I am knocked out in minutes. I LOVE this oil and I am on my second bottle already!
I also use this oil when I am going to have a bath to help me relax when I am stressed.
Why do I apply it to the soles of my feet?
The soles of our feet have much larger pores than the rest of our body. They act like huge straws sucking up the oil and feeding it to the bloodstream.
Another reason is because your feet are much less sensitive than the rest of your body. The lower sensitivity of your skin on your feet means you can usually add essential oils onto your feet undiluted.
According to reflexology every nerve line in your body ends in your feet so the essential oil you have applied may have a much stronger effect on the body.
