My top five favourite Christmas movies.

It’s that time of year when I finally allow my family to watch Christmas movies. Yes, I am one of those people, who waits until it is Dember before even doing anything festive. I find that when people celebrate really early by the time they get up to Christmas they will be sick and tired of hearing the songs and watching the movies.

That’s the highlight of December. It’s freezing outside so you stay inside and watch Christmas movies, put up your tree and decorate.

My favourite Christmas movies:

Will Ferrel is one of those characters that you either love or hate. Personally, I love him in the Elf movie but some of his other movies I don’t find funny at all. This movie centres around a giant elf who heads to New York City to find his father.

Not only is this movie hilarious but it the reality of family life during a stressful time in their lives. Just like any Christmas movie, the spirit of Christmas brings the whole family back together.

Miracle on 34th street

I will never forget being introduced to this movie by my mum when I was younger. I loved Mara Wilson In the movie Matilda so was very excited to watch her meet Santa! I just love it.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Don’t you just relate to the Grinch sometimes? I know I do. Jim Carey is one amazing actor who definitely plays an amazing Grinch based on the Dr Seuss book. Although this is as old as me It’s an amazing movie. I definitely think I’ll be introducing this movie to my younger brother this year!

The Santa Claus.

Who wouldn’t love to become Santa? Only working one day a year! Talk about living the life of luxury. On Christmas, Eve Scott has custody of his young son and accidentally kills Santa! What happens now?! He becomes Santa and has to deal with this new career change.

Edward Scissorhands

I know this isn’t your traditional Christmas movie but I love the ice sculptor scene where Edward creates a beautiful sculptor. Edward was created by a scientist who sadly died before he could finish making Edward and left him with a freaky appearance. I really love this movie.

So there you have it my top five favourite Christmas movies. What are your favourite movies? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Wow, Edward scissor hands! I haven’t watched that so didn’t realise it was a Christmas film! I also haven’t watched miracle in 34th street. Gosh I must be living in a hole x

  2. This is such a nice list! Personally I’m not a big fan of Elf and I haven’t watched the other once either, but they’re definitely on my list. Loved this post!
