As you have probably seen on my social media and/or newsletter I took the month of May off from publishing new content on both my blog and YouTube channel. I was stuck in a rut and I was very unmotivated and I couldn’t figure out what to do moving forward with my blog. It was time for me to take a step back to think and find my excitement in my blog again. Taking time out would be very beneficial for me in the long run. I knew it would be but I was scared about having downtime.
What if it doesn’t work? What if I never find motivation again? So many what if’s ran through my mind as I was trying to make this decision. So I bit the bullet, took my break and look I’m back with fresh new ideas and content that I am so so excited to share with you in the coming weeks and months. So let’s talk about the importance of taking time out.
Taking time out has been hugely beneficial to me as I have been able to refocus on my thoughts and ideas for both my blog and my YouTube channel. I didn’t have to worry about writing blog posts and working on social media I could spend time relaxing and let the ideas come to me when they were ready instead of trying to force out content that I wasn’t happy with and didn’t feel really excited about.
Being able to take time out to refocus can be a huge help. It doesn’t have to be a long time like the month I have taken off but it could be a weekend, a week or whatever you see fit for you and your blog or whatever other things you need to step away from.
When we are constantly working and not resting we can become very exhausted both physically and mentally and unmotivated. This can cause a lot of unease, unrest, lack of moral and in my case a feeling of failure. Taking time out gave me a whole new burst of energy towards my blog again and I have so many new plans and new things coming for you all!
Although I took a break from creating and producing content I have continued to work behind the scenes throughout May doing admin tasks, strategy planning, content planning and so much more. Although I will always have something to do to improve my blog I have the main things planned and organised so I don’t need to worry about any of them again. Being organised is a breath of fresh air. It can clear your mind and make you feel a lot better when you are feeling unmotivated and unclear on your goals. Reorganising can simply mean organising your computer files or even organising your desk. Having things organised around you can definitely help you feel less unmotivated and your mind less cluttered.
